Entrepreneurship Mentorship Training to Strengthen Inclusive Economies

Entrepreneurship Mentorship Training to Strengthen Inclusive Economies

As part of efforts to support economic recovery and improve livelihoods for marginalised groups, the INKLUSI Secretariat organised an Entrepreneurship Mentorship Training in October 2024 in Yogyakarta. The training, which utilised adapted modules from the International Labour Organization (ILO), targeted representatives of INKLUSI’s local partners with experience in entrepreneurship.

The training aimed to enhance the capacity of INKLUSI partners’ entrepreneurship mentors, enabling them to better support micro and small enterprises within marginalised groups. It provided practical skills to help these groups establish and manage sustainable businesses that can compete in the market.

The training employed participatory methods, including group discussions, case studies, business simulations, and one-on-one mentoring sessions. Key topics covered included designing resilient business models, accessing resources and networks, and fostering collaboration with local stakeholders.

Participants, who had previously attended the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Gender-Based Entrepreneurship in May 2024, also benefited from individual mentoring sessions to address specific challenges they face in supporting micro enterprises in their areas.

Through this training, INKLUSI partners are expected to better assist small businesses in their communities, create new job opportunities, improve living standards, and contribute to building a more inclusive and equitable economy.
