#16DaysOfActivism: Leading Change through Sekolah Perempuan in South Sulawesi

Evi Rosmawati is the leader of the Women’s School (Sekolah Perempuan) in Pangkep, South Sulawesi—an informal school for women and other marginalised groups initiated by KAPAL Perempuan, one of INKLUSI’s CSO partners that focuses on promoting women’s leadership, empowering women—particularly those from poor and marginalised communities and ensuring their needs are prioritised in development planning.

KAPAL Perempuan established Sekolah Perempuan, a grassroots initiative empowering marginalised women to overcome challenges such as limited education, poverty, discrimination, and violence. It fosters critical awareness, leadership, and social transformation, enabling women to strengthen their voices and influence in decision-making. To complement this, the Complaint Post (Pos Pengaduan) was established to address barriers in accessing essential services, such as social protection and legal identity. Working collaboratively with the government, it provides assistance, referrals, and advocacy on issues such as gender-based violence and child marriage, bridging gaps in public services and promoting community awareness.

By July 2024, under the INKLUSI program, KAPAL Perempuan has established 28 Complaints Posts, successfully reaching over >3,600 marginalised individuals who accessed the services provided by these posts, supported by INKLUSI.
