The 6th Temu Inklusi was officially launched through a soft launching event held at the Cirebon Regent’s Pavilion on 8 May 2025. This year’s biennial national forum adopts the theme ‘Commitment, Synergy, Action, and Innovation Based on Diversity for a Golden Indonesia 2045.’
First held in 2014, Temu Inklusi is an initiative of SIGAB Indonesia—a partner of the INKLUSI program—supported by disability communities, civil society organisations, development partners, and the government. Over the years, it has become a space for learning, networking, and consolidating the disability movement. The forum has generated key initiatives, including the concept of Inclusive Villages, now adopted in more than 157 villages across 10 districts in 5 provinces.
Cirebon Regency was selected to host this year’s event in recognition of its strong commitment and proven good practices in promoting inclusive development. The Regent of Cirebon, Imron Rosyadi, expressed his pride and called on all sectors of society to contribute actively.
“Temu Inklusi is a continuous process that requires the involvement of all elements of society, building on diversity as the foundation for an inclusive Cirebon,” said Regent Imron.
Support also came from Tirta Sutedjo, Director of Poverty Alleviation and Social Welfare (PKKS) at BAPPENAS, who emphasised the strategic role of the forum in strengthening inclusive development indicators within Indonesia’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (RPJMN) and national planning processes.
“Organisations of persons with disabilities and civil society must be recognised as strategic partners to government and as drivers of innovation to enhance disability inclusion in development,” he noted.
Through the Strengthening Inclusion for Disability Equity and Rights (SOLIDER) program, supported by INKLUSI, SIGAB Indonesia has worked in partnership with the Forum Komunikasi Difabel Cirebon (FKDC) and the Cirebon District Government. The collaboration has resulted in the establishment of six inclusive villages, the strengthening of the Disability Employment Service Unit (ULD) which has supported the placement of over 600 workers with disabilities, and the implementation of Thematic Development Planning Forums (Musrenbang) on Disability.
Joni Yulianto, Executive Director of SIGAB Indonesia, described Temu Inklusi as a valuable platform for cross-sectoral engagement and knowledge exchange.
“Temu Inklusi is a space for interaction and learning—where diversity is embraced, not divided. We aim to welcome 2,000 participants from across Indonesia and hope the forum will generate a positive economic and social impact for the host village,” Joni shared.
The soft launching marks the beginning of the lead-up to the main event of the 6th Temu Inklusi, which will take place on 2–4 September 2025 in Durajaya Village, Greged Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency. Planned activities include thematic discussions, a creative competition titled “Young Voices for Inclusion”, and the collection of good practices from disability communities and civil society groups. Temu Inklusi 2025 is expected to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration and foster innovative initiatives that support inclusive policies and ecosystems across Indonesia.
