As part of ongoing efforts to promote more inclusive development in Indonesia, the Australia–Indonesia Partnership Towards an Inclusive Society (INKLUSI) regularly convenes Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings in collaboration with the Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas) and other relevant ministries and government institutions.

The event, which took place on 27–28 May 2025 in Jakarta, served as a strategic platform to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration, ensure alignment between program implementation and national policy directions, and prepare for the second phase of the INKLUSI Program in 2026–2029.

INKLUSI’s governance structure includes four Technical Working Groups (TWGs), which serve as cross-sectoral coordination and communication forums between INKLUSI Partners and relevant government ministries and agencies. These TWGs are aligned with the program’s End of Program Outcomes (EOPOs), with each group carrying a distinct technical focus and mandate to support the achievement of INKLUSI’s objectives. The four groups include TWG I on Access to Services, TWG II on Protection from Violence, TWG III on Economic Recovery and Livelihoods, and TWG IV on Inclusive Participation in Development.

The TWG meetings, held twice a year, generally in the second quarter and at the end of the third quarter, serve as an important platform for INKLUSI partners to present progress on programme implementation. These forums also provide an opportunity for ministries and government agencies to offer input and technical guidance on upcoming activities, while reaffirming the relevance of INKLUSI’s work to national development priorities such as the Asta Cita vision and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).

This year’s TWG meetings specifically aim to identify strategic issues and key achievements within each working group, align programme activities with the policies and initiatives of the Government of Indonesia, and strengthen cross-sectoral coordination to ensure continued support for the sustainability of the Program INKLUSI.

Through this forum, INKLUSI seeks to foster inclusive dialogue and a shared commitment among government actors, civil society organisations, development partners, and other stakeholders involved in the program. The insights and recommendations generated from these discussions are expected to guide INKLUSI’s future work, strengthen collaboration, expand impact, and ensure that no one is left behind in participating in and benefiting from Indonesia’s development.
